Although this a purely sprinting based blog I do have a large soft spot for the Grand National and I will be allocating a stand alone page for the race and its build up so please keep a lookout for this over the next few weeks.
The weights for the race are announced on Tuesday at the Official launch at the Intercontinental Hotel in London and I will be providing an initial assessemnt of those that take my eye.
Take a read of my blog today and find a National horse that's;
ReplyDelete- won over 3-miles (twice) at Grade 1 & 2;
- since Aug 2010 had 2 runs (not won);
- currently rated OR150 (has been OR162);
- allotted 11-stone (9 of last 12 placed runners carried 10st12lb+);
- is a 10yo;
- RPR160 (highest RPR161 in Apr07);
- topspeed 154;
- only 14 chase starts;
- 1st-ever Grand National.
Is your mouth watering yet?
And this is 50/1 and trained by Paul Nicholls.

Could be one to watch out for, I like the idea it hasnt run in the race before, the weight is ok, would have preferred him to have run a bit further than 3 miles.
ReplyDeleteI know Mon Mome was a french bred but there havent been many others in the last 20 years also it will be interesting to see who will actually ride him.
Still a good spot though and you could be on to a winner.
