Glad your back, and I hope you have a handle on the new draw system! My thoughts on the Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster last Sat was that it was a scrappy race. Loads found trouble in this and the form may be dubious. What do you think?
It was a scrappy race but a few performed with credit and now that the 2nd Iver Bridge Lad has gone and won a Conditions Stakes at Nottingham today by 2 lengths it gives the form a boost, he was also 2nd to J J The Jet Plane in Dubai. I thought Hitchens ran a cracker, he was 6lb worse off than in a handicap with Iver Bridge Lad in this and he was out the back before coming with a sustained run to take 4th and he looks worth keeping on side, Royal Rock and Prime Defender are others to watch. Bated Breath was nearly on the floor at one stage and Roger Charlton has high hopes for him this season.
Not a good start with Lenny Bee, his jockey looked to make too much use of him early on and the going may have been quicker than he likes, thatsaid the winner powered through well at the end.I was a bit more on the ball with the Nottingham race, at least I got the first 4 home albeit in the wrong order, Tricast paid £55.70. The selection had a poor start and although threatening with a run down the outside that was probably the worst place to be and he remains one to watch out for particulary against his own age group.
